We are confident our Fire Pit is simply the best pit on the market today (see competition, main page). It was designed to be purely functional - for years of use - and it is.
Our Fire Pit starts life as a sheet of 14 gauge cold rolled steel. It is then sheared into sections and then run through the CNC punch press to punch out the holes, legs, and tabs for the grill and floor.
It is then rolled in the power slip-roller. The tabs bent down to hold the grill, and the tabs bent to hold the floor.
The handles are cut from 3/8' steel rods and bent to shape. The handles are then welded on with a mig welder and the seam closed in the same fashion.
It is then primed and painted with 1200 degree heat paint from Forest Paint in Eugene OR.
There are no nuts or bolts to rust. There is no mesh to rot. The pit is 12 inches deep and you can build a great roaring fire, or use it to grill with charcoal, or with some Weber parts, slow cook.
This was designed from the start to work in conjuction with Weber 22 1/2 inch grills. If you have a Weber Kettle grill the cooker/lid will fit perfectly - converting this to a portable indirect heat tail gate smoker. If you do not have one, used Weber's are found on CraigsList or at many yard sales. Weber's are prone to rust in the bottom section - but you don't need that.
